In all of the back and forth and sausage-making over the climate legislation, it is good to see some pure progress being made.
This is long overdue, and one more sign that the Administration is serious about climate change. The decision also includes a nothing-close-to-subtle slap at the EPA under the previous regime.
In making the decision, the Environmental Protection Agency said it was returning "to its traditional legal interpretation of the Clean Air Act" — a rebuke of the EPA's decision in 2008 to deny California's request.
Between this and the new lighting standards announced this week, this has been a good week for energy issues even without taking the passage of the climate bill in the house.
