Everyone here has probably seen this:
Ryan Grim reports that Ben Nelson (D-NE) is working with "a few centrist Democrats and several Republicans" on a plan to make comprehensive health reform less likely by pushing the Senate leadership to delay action on health care until after the August recess. That’s very nice for vacation-hungry Senators, since the fact of the matter is that it will be quite difficult to get a bill done by the time recess is scheduled to start, so a push for an August vote could lead to members of the Senate (shudder) needing to stay in town and work on a problem of national importance even when the weather is really nasty.

Well, I have a plan:
I think Harry Reid should prove he's a strong leader by having keeping the senate in session until Ben Nelson & Co. have time to get comfortable with the bill.
It works on many levels:
- It gives Ben Nelson some time to study up. I know, he's had months (hell, years) to think about this issue. But let's realize that he's collecting mucho lobbyist $$$'s from both sides while sitting on the fence. So, he needs more time, I'm sure. (He always will, just wait until EFCA get's closer.)
- It creates pressure for these clowns to finally make up thier minds, whether their campaign promises were real or whether they figured they wouldn't have to actually worry about doing what they promised. And,
- WE DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACES BACK HOME UNTIL YOU GET IT DONE!
What do you think?
