Corporations are making way less than money than they used to, the economy is in shambles and the unemployment rate is at a 26-year high. Yet even as average Americans scrimp and save, the same financial services companies and big banks that tanked our economy--and got bailed out by taxpayers--are holding out their hands greedily for more, more, more!
And what's worse, the CEOs who presided over the companies that put us into a recession are still getting huge bonuses and retirement perks.
If you're angry like millions of Americans over the greed and corruption that continues to poison the culture of corporate America and hurt working people, there's a new video game you can download to your iPhone or iPod Touch to help you let go of your anger and frustration...at least for a little while. "Squash the $treet" is a game that allows you to (virtually) wreak havoc on financial professionals as you try to squash as many "shady bankers, creepy fraudsters and corrupt CEOs" as possible.
It's a harmless way to digitally take out your anger on Wall Street, and you'll probably get a laugh out of the company names as well: Shadygroup, Guilded Hacks, Leave ‘Em Brothers and Ferral Wench. You can download the app for 99 cents at squashthestreet.blogspot.com, check it out on Facebook and/or follow it on Twitter.
A new survey showed that online games can really positively boost the mood of the player, particularly during the current state of the economy (as long as you're not putting your job in jeopardy by playing during work hours, that is!). Other popular video games that focus on the ailing economy include "Layoff," "The Bailout Game" and "Bush's Billions."
If you're a victim of the recession but don't have an iPhone, try AngstCorner.com's "email a punch" website feature--it's surprisingly therapeutic.
