Hi Sovereigns,
I just returned, yesterday, from a great family road trip to Quebec City, Montreal, and Toronto. Everywhere I asked about nationalized healthcare. The all said, "Get it. It is great. If a politician proposes nationalized healthcare, vote for them."
THERE IS NO FEAR. You can lose your job. Or, have no job. Your spouse can work, and not you. You may clean rooms in a hotel. Maybe you are a waitress. You own a small business. YOU ALWAYS HAVE GOOD HEALTH CARE.
WHY LIVE IN A CULTURE OF FEAR. Here, at any time, you can go broke. You can lose your job and healthcare, and then get sick. You are busted. You lose your savings and your house. This tension rides on the back of every American. An insidious constant threat to every individual and family in America.
You might have heard the often presented facts about a lady being delayed chemo for a slow moving cancer. I do not know the facts of this case, and it may have well been prudent to delay. However, I do know the case of a boat hand I talked to in Quebec who had cancer and had full treatment and now seven years later he is free of detectable cancer. And, get this, his final and total bill was about $100. The clear truth is nationalized healthcare works.
We need to eliminate the insurance profiteers from controlling access to healthcare, and we need national negotiations with medical providers profiteers. This includes pharmaceutical and diagnostic profiteers. They are crushing and draining our economy. While in Canada, I read the news of a Canadian Province negotiating massive discounts with providers. See *1
As Franklin Roosevelt fought for Social Security he said ""A few timid people, who fear progress, will try to give you new and strange names for what we are doing." See *2. How true that is today as we are led down a path of fear by the profiteers. You and I will pay, many times, for their greed.
The fundamental question of our times is, "Who is the sovereign?." Is it the medical provider community, or is it the people?
Do you feel as I do -- THE PEOPLE ARE THE SOVEREIGN. The people are in charge. The people are the King.
This is not the time to quit. The prize is worth the struggle.

The night before I left Canada, my wife struck up a conversation with the folks at the next table at the cafe on College Street in Toronto. As we were getting ready to go, the other party said "We knew you were from the United States, you are so outgoing, Canadians do not act like you."
The American Way is still the light of the world. We have wonderful, invaluable qualities. Resplendent, shining individual identities. Yet, we are only 4% of the world, there IS MUCH WE CAN LEARN from our wonderful world. Let's pick, choose and use what is good. I believe this includes nationalized healthcare.

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!
