Law enforcement agent provocateurs are a common sight to anyone that’s participated in any kind of rally or protest. The tactic is simple: have some law enforcement goons try their best to dress and act like they're part of the protest, then have them go too far – hurling stuff, pushing people, smashing windows, yelling threats, and starting trouble. This then gives law enforcement the excuse to disperse and shut down the entire protest, with the added benefit that it gives corporate media stories to run on those bad, bad protesters. It also allows law enforcement to identify those that were willing to go along with the agent provocateurs.
We’ve seen police agent provocateurs disrupting everything from the G-8 summits to the Democratic convention crowds. Now comes word that Hal Turner, long a boogieman of the left and non-radicalized right, was just another agent provocateur there to try to lure people to join in so they could be tracked and arrested.
Which all begs the glaring question: are these guys that are suddenly appearing at Barack Obama protests and rallies agent provocateurs as well? Are they there to stir up the crazies to make a move so they can self-identify?
Think about it. Have you ever heard of anyone appearing at a Presidential appearance with a gun before (who wasn’t immediately detained)? There had to be dozens of Presidential visits to Colorado, for example, over the years. Did you ever hear of anyone showing up with a gun to one of them? It’s an open-carry state; there should have been at least SOMEONE who was stupid enough to do it. And did you ever hear of anyone showing up at a Presidential appearance with a gun – even in an open-carry state – and then going on a national television talk show that night?!
Neither have I, and that’s what makes these recent nut jobs with guns suddenly showing up at Obama rallies smell so fishy.
