Several national polls have asked people about the congressional heckler and the vast majority think that his behavior was awful.
85% in the CNN poll answered that the behavior was inappropriate.
But one group stands out. Regarding Rep. Wilson's heckling, USA Today/Gallup found
Six percent describe their reaction as "thrilled."
And who are these folks in the 6% fringe?
That group was solidly Republican.
Well, no surprise there. I figure these are folks who believe all sorts of, well, interesting things. I bet a lot of the shouters at the town hall meetings hold this view.
But I have some questions:
Why do they and the others who are ok with the heckling (15% in the CNN poll and 21% in the USA Today/Gallup poll) virtually control the Republican establishment?
Why does the media give them disproportionate attention?
And how can we make it clear that they are true fringe when it comes to their anger and paranoia about Obama and health care? We are talking 6% of the population!!
