Yesterday I posted this Diary highlighting the 'I Love America' rally scheduled for Center stage at Riverfest, an annual celebration and fund raiser for Community College scholarships.
Well, 'I Love America' but only if you're a wingnut.
In short, they're off the schedule!!
Sea-Comm Media has pulled the plug on a controversial rally scheduled to take place at Riverfest.
Sea-Comm President and General Manager Paul Knight said the company will no longer sponsor the "I Love America" rally at next month's festival.
The rally was going to be hosted by conservative radio show host Curtis Wright, which sparked some protest from community members.
Knight said he did not want Riverfest directors to endure what he called "ridiculous action by a small group of unhappy people."
Yeah. Small group of unhappy people who flooded the inbox at Riverfest, showed them the error in their ways (believing that a conservative talk show host who calls Obama a 'Muslim Communist would put on a 'non-partisan' event)
Oh yeah, and note to Paul Knight, who just happens to be running for Wilmington mayor this fall: This 'small group' of unhappy people will be happy to vote against you.
Kudos to Riverfest!
