I don't want to write a very long diary. Sometimes the less said the better. I just wanted to write down a feeling I had about health care reform and how Congressional Democrats and the President made major mistakes and misunderstood the mood of the American public.
The President strode into the White House on the theme of health care reform, not to let the Congressional Democrats kill health care reform. Let me repeat that word, L-E-T.
He will blame republicans for being obstructionist, but in the end, a true leader would have have written his own bill and let Congress debate it. Instead he allowed 535 separate people with separate agendas destroy what reform is. Reform, as defined by 65% of the American public, the electorate who voted Obama into office wanted the public option. The President failed. Health care reform should now be known as medical insurance industry welfare. The Congress is on the verge of giving the medical insurance industry the keys to the country. I don't want to hear bullshit from Congressman or administration officials anymore. I don't want to hear Wiener or Frank or Rockefeller anymore. Their words on pundit shows are now superfluous and are only empty words to inspire outrage when we need to move on and deal with survival of the fittest (meaning the wealthy shall prevail while the middle class evaporates).
No one, I mean no one has been more supportive of President Obama than I have. Today he proved one thing to me. He is a one term president, and this Congress deserves to lose their majority. President Obama left the country to lobby for Chicago to be the 2016 Olympic host while the biggest issue of our time domestically was being considered. He failed. This 46 year old Harvard educated man, with all his intelligence, charm and charisma proved he lacks wisdom. Wisdom is something others cannot teach you. Wisdom is something only ones own experience can teach, and hopefully this boondoggle of a trip to Copenhagen while Rome burned will be a learning experience for him as a man. He's already blown whatever chips he had on this one issue. He lost a considerable amount of credibility to fix the economy and ease the burden of the middle class.
He chose his pet project of getting the Olympics to Chicago over the nation's health. Those who read through my history of comments know I am no alarmist. I am not someone who jumps on the bandwagon of outrage and obsession. In fact, after today, I will not even consider health care reform again. I will try not even to think of it again because to me, it is a dead issue. This nation is run by robber barons known as the medical insurance industry. They control the Congress and now it is proven they run Obama himself.
