Okay, I know this will be a quick diary and will move along quickly down the list, but I saw something that nobody else has pointed out, yet anyway.
From the TVByTheNumbers website I was looking at the Cable News show ratings and this struck me as a very interesting tidbit.
More below that old fold…
From their stats for last weekend…

And in every single age group, CNN outbeats FOX as well on Saturday and all the other stations combined outbeat FOX on Sunday.
This tells me that those working folks that come home on the weekend and turn on the TV for a little news updates are not all turning on FOX but rather, CNN or MSNBC, et al.. In fact, for all Cable News channels (a/k/a infotainment), Fox represents for August 29th, only 27.8% of the viewing numbers and on Sunday, August 30th, FOX represents 42.7% of the total viewers. I'm sure Fox News Sunday helps in their Sunday ratings.
Anyhow, this caught my eye because less than half of the people who do watch one of these stations is actually tuning into FOX. Hey, less hatred, innuendo, flat out lies (guised as opinion) and well, they are really good at not reporting the real News in the first place.
So much hoopla over FOX's audience growing larger since Obama entered office, well, might be spun because there are some other ways to look at the numbers.
So remember, the majorities are NOT watching FOX (yet, and let's keep it that way).
Oh, something else I found on the website... The Daily Show appears to average about 1.6 million viewers each night and the Colbert Report is 1.2 million. Not bad, not bad at all. I would like to see their totals, considering I know people who watch the re-runs the following day.
