I've been as frustrated as many of you by the "debate" over health care in the month of August. I've seen the videos of the town halls with the anti-reform protestors, often numbering in the hundreds (!) getting lots of media coverage. Michael Steele was right - wave your arms and act like a fool and you'll get some t.v. time. But that's not the only way to get t.v. time, right?
I can only imagine that there are many more supporters of real health care reform than there are opponents. Polls tell us this much. But we're getting our asses handed to us in the media. These few opponents, whether they be ideologically-driven or insanity-driven, are on the front page of every paper the night after every town hall meeting. We know why our "leadership" has been outmaneuvered by the GOP - that's just what the Democrats excel at - but why have we, at a grassroots level allowed this to happen?
I think a march on Washington is in order. Now, if only we had a great community organizer to help us out with this one...
