There's alot of negativity on the Daily Kos lately and I'm not liking it. It was our "Yes We Can!" attitude that helped Obama win last year and we can do it again too.
I don't know what President Obama will say on Wednesday night but I am 99% sure that by the end of this year America's Healthcare system will be better.
It may not be exactly want we want but it will be better. Obama is not going to support a bill that is worse than what we have now. Maybe Obama has a plan to fix America's health care system in stages instead of one big lump that will make it easier to scare the wingnuts with - small but strong doses over time. Although it must be completed before November 2010 just in case the Democrats do lose power.
Like many of you I wish the President would act bolder and call out the Republican nonsense. Unfortunately he won't do that on Wednesday night. That may actually be a good thing. Remember how many times last year we urged Obama to knock out McCain but he never did - and it worked in his favour. We spend too much time listening to the far right loons and not the decent Americans who like his intellect and will no doubt get something from his speech on Wednesday as we all will.
So remember this: we are heading in the right direction. This fight was never going to be easy, it should be, but it was never going to be.
While I have lost some of my faith in President Obama, I still have some left. And I have faith that by the end of this year, whatever Obama and the Democrats agree on, it will surely be better than the stinking pile of shit we call a health care system now.
