I am late for work and have a big meeting. I can't write a full diary. So here's what you need to know.
(1) The incumbent for California's 72nd Assembly District, Mike Duvall, has just screwed the pooch, as well as a couple of lobbyists, but at least he didn't spank the pooch. See not a cent's top Recommended diary here. It's great reading.
(2) His opponent, John MacMurray, is now preparing to run against him for I think the fourth time straight. Each time he is doing better and is now within shouting distance. I can vouch for him -- this is a good, progressive guy.
(3) John is a credible candidate who has mostly been hampered by a lack of money.
(4) John's ActBlue site is here.
(5) His web pages open to loud videos, so I won't link to them, but you can find them easily. 72nd District. Anyone who wants to tell him to fix that, please do!
(6) If enough people donate to him today, he will probably freak out and start making noises like Donald Duck, which will be hugely entertaining, but it won't be in front of a live mic so that's OK. He will also run a fine campaign and get California Democrats closer to the 2/3 majority they need to be able to take control of the budget situation. This would be huge!
(7) See #4. If you have the money to donate, this is a good candidate and this is an excellent day to do it!
