Yet more evidence that this speech and the pitiful GOP response are game-changers emerged from the unlikeliest of sources:
Reactionary website: RedState.com
That's right, folks. RedState correctly coined the GOP response as a "fail"...cementing this night as one that could represent a resurrection of support for this salient policy initiative.
Forget that President Obama dropped the hammer on GOP obstructionists...
Forget that he clearly and succinctly outlined a comprehensive plan to reform our broken health care system...including strong support for a public option...
Forget that he addressed all the budget concerns floating out there regarding the cost of the plan...
Forget that he properly called out the GOP for its wasteful tax cuts for the wealthy and spending on two wars...
America was reminded tonight why they believed in President Obama.
President Obama was articulate and classy; Republicans sat and pouted
President Obama outlined a vision for reform; Republicans trotted out a malpractice machine
Tonight, one party took the lead in the fight for health care reform while the other reminded the American people why they booted their asses out of power in the first place.
Tonight, Democrats took back the narrative. They need only drive to the finish line to turn promise into reality with regards to comprehensive health care reform.
