I don't give a damn.
Don't tell me to rally around Harry Reid.
For many who frequent this site Reid was more leaderless than a leader for many other things, but his statement about Barack Obama is a done deal for me.
Sure, Barack Obama can accept his apology, but that don't mean that I do.
For me, Harry Reid will not get a damn dime, a phone call, nothing from me.
Look, one thing I can depend on from the Republicans, I mean DEPEND is stating what they feel and how they feel about people like me. I don't care how racist, dog whistling, hard it is the Republicans will not dissapoint me on this end. That is their truth and their problem.
Some Democrats on the other hand, hypocrites.
Reid made this following statement:
In a private conversation reported in the book, Reid described Obama as a "light-skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
Wow, Reid knows for sure there is a difference between a light skinned African American and a dark skinned one? Unbelievable. Reid's statement is racist. Period. It is this type of mindset that is strung throughout many politicians, yes even the precious Democrats.
We sat here and watched the Clinton Campaign try dog whistle tactics that blew many minds here. For many African Americans, in which the Clintons were beloved, those tactics turned them off and AWAY. We saw it from polling after polling and primary after primary. And why should this be any different with Harry Reid.
The Democrats can stand around Reid all day long, spin it as they like, say he meant this, that or the other, state Obama accepted the apology (as he should), but in the end Reid is a deader than a door knob.
When people say something like this, guess what, they mean it!!! They really do!! It is when they get caught that all of a sudden they did not mean it, that it was taken out of context. The problem is that Reid said this, he meant it and he apologized for it.
Harry Reid, I could care less if you lose in November. No money, help or support from this African American woman. There are far more other issues concerning leadership that I have not liked from you, but this is it for me. And Democrats don't sweep this under the rug because you need people of color for your party and people in our party making statements like this, makes me think this party is not a true big tent. I have a right to feel this way for anyone making these remarks, especially in a national leadership position.
And Bill Clinton with the coffee remark about Barack Obama to the late Ted Kennedy? Sure he said it, he wanted his wife to WIN. And yes, many will and are trying to spin it and have started to, but ask any African American what that statement or reference means to them? It is not the D.C. media talk, that is for sure, but a reference of demeaning.
Democrats, we don't need crap like this in our party and defending actions like this from Democrats. It is people like this that need to be replaced and for Reid, I hope it starts in November of this year. He needs to go.
