Well, fuck a duck. Things have been picking up no end.
I'm getting book orders and good feedback and people I haven't heard from in a few months, and all sorts of happy stuff.
Fuck a duck. I AM the happy person.
It's coming out all over the place. The raptor and parrot rescue non-profit people are scheduled to come down and get the fruit trees next Friday. They are all up in the boonies near the Lincoln National Forest, in Pinon. They have to drive far for groceries. They want to plant an orchard. Fruit for the birds, and the humans.
I did save the little cherry tree for a local couple who always plant a tree for each kid. They'll be coming out here Saturday for the tree; they hadn't gotten a tree for their youngest kid.
I get to give a tree to a family for their child. Wow! That is so awesome.
And then there have been all the book donations. Four of them, so far.
Jimi the wounded war vet. He wanted southwestern history and war histories.
He's messed up and gets messed up in the winter more, with it being so cold.
He lives a ways away, and we worked out an appointment where a friend of his could come and pick up the books.
He wrote me back about how much he appreciated my Freecycle donation. How great especially people are who give books.
Well, that rocked!
Then there was Debbie; she came by with her daughter - maybe about ten? They wanted southwestern books, history, art, religious and other metaphysical.
They were shy, but very interested in teh books..I think they barely saw me.
That was cool.
And then Charles, who came up to take the bunch of history books I came up with. He wrote me a few days later and said that he'd just started to open the boxes and, wow!
