I found this announcement on the Twitter page of Alana Russo, who works at MSNBC. I'm guessing that he is returning to talk about the recently-passed health care reform bill.

"Keith Olbermann returns to host Countdown tonight on msnbc, 8pm ET"
(I hope this diary will post correctly, because this site is giving me no ends of trouble and error messages....)
Given all the high hopes and heartaches surrounding this bill, I'm inclined to wonder whether Keith and his guests will think that this bill is better than nothing, or if he will continue to disapprove of the mandatory aspect of this health insurance bill.
Lawrence O'Donnell has done well hosting Countdown in Keith's absence, but I have to admit that there's always something lacking in the show when Keith is gone. Without Oddball and Worst Persons In The World, Countdown seems like just another news program. And of course, Lawrence has some awfully big shoes to fill when it comes to hosting duties. :-)
I don't know if the tone of tonight's Countdown will be totally serious or business as usual, but one thing I'm guessing we might see is a story about the interviews that Tiger Woods did with ESPN and the Golf Channel.
I would imagine, though, that the toughest task for today would be choosing just three Worst Persons In The World. The GOP has gone into such a total meltdown over the passage of this reform bill, that they're all starting to sound like Michelle "Bat**** Crazy" Bachmann.
Though it's good to have Keith back tonight, I would certainly understand if he wanted to take more time off. It's been a very rough year for him and his family.
