Yesterday, my husband said something that really grabbed my attention. He does that once in a while. :) I thought I'd pass it along to see if anyone might agree ...
Some time ago, I read a diary here which gave the definition of a conservative as "someone who's afraid the government is going to take their money and give it to people they think doesn't deserve it" and a liberal as "someone who's afraid the government is going to take their money and it won't get to the people who need it." I apologize for the lack of a link - I was unable to find via search.
Yesterday, my husband told me that a "conservative is someone willing to kill for their convictions, and a liberal is someone willing to die for theirs."
That just shocked me. Then I stopped to think about it. In my own lifetime, who are the ones who were killed for their convictions? Martin Luther King Jr., John F. and Robert Kennedy immediately come to mind. And who killed for his convictions? Timothy McVeigh comes to mind.
And what does that make suicide bombers? Conservative or liberal? Both?
Sometimes, that man just rocks my brain ... :)
