Well it has been a good long time since my previous post, but I'm sure that this will prove substantive enough for discussion.
I've made it a short term mission to ask a person who considers themselves "Pro-Life" what they think about this nation's wars. The focus of this diary is to address the blatant unapologetic hypocrisy of this conservative dogma.
Amongst the Cold War-era rhetorical blather from the right about "socialism" and other long-buried demons, I find none more disturbing than the "Pro-Life" crowd. I know on this website, this is nothing new, but I'd like to tie this to recent events; namely, the Stupak and Slaughter death-threats and the domestic terrorism targeting political party headquarters not in "isolated incidents" but across the nation.
Question #1 to a Pro-Life advocate:
Where were you during those TRULY massive protests against our illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? If you find the idea of abortion murderous, you must DREAD war! Of course!
But really, a Pro-Life advocate nowadays, is more than likely to proudly bear the label of "teabagger"
--pause. REALLY, MAN? get with the ****ing times!-- and show up on major news networks belching out nonsense about the recently passed healthcare legislation claiming that it "kills babies".
Question #2:
Why does murdering women's civil rights advocates like Dr. George Tiller make you feel so justified?
I mean, considering that the demographic of "Pro-Lifers" is largely male, I suppose I could understand the raging contemptuous jealousy writhing from their primal brain circuits. //snark//
Question #3:
Why do you feel so justified about threatening death and violence in general? I mean, considering you wave your self-righteous flag so high, you should probably cut back on that right? Nah, just keep sending death threats and obscenities to public servants, that should do the trick.
I'll pause from these questions, as I'm more or less writing this on the fly.
Firstly, I'm going to be eternally thankful that for the most part liberals have not tried anything quite this stupid in recent years (except for maybe the Truthers, although it's difficult to tell who's side they're really on).
Secondly, I'd like to point out that this crowd has become what they hate: religious kooks who put socio-political ideology in place of BASIC HUMAN LOGIC. I can have a level-headed debate with a fiscal conservative, he/she and I can ping-pong this-and-thats and arrive at a reasonable conclusion; Lifers have no such regard for compassionate and intelligent debate. Their vitriolic rhetoric is what I think really brings out the blatancy of their hypocrisy; rather than suggesting helpful and constructive alternatives, they seek to FURTHER trample the rights of women especially in the working class.
This has lead me to the conclusion that this crowd are not simply religious sheep following their pseudo-philanthropic shepherds; but rather, adamant (not to mention openly admitted) misogynists pursuing a deeply hateful vendetta against women, minorities, and the working class.

Jokes aside, I'd like to hear any thoughts related to items I mentioned, related diaries/stories/et cetera.
