I usually spend my Saturdays like most people do - trying to get everything done at home that was neglected during the week. You know, laundry, car repair appointments, fix the $%^$& lawn mower, etc.
I was in the back yard trying to coax my used lawn mower out of winter hibernation, quite unsuccessfully, when I noticed the large house across the street from me had been decorated in red/white/blue banners and helium balloons...
Suspecting the 'worst' considering I live in an extremely red state (West Virginia), I watched as about fifteen or so cars arrived and the passengers went inside. All is quiet now, but I'm positive this is preparation for the April 15 "Teabag Tax Revolt" for my town.
I felt pretty lonely this last Presidential election, as I had the only Obama/Biden signs on my block. I was a little surprised that no one vandalized them, actually. WV is an extremely red state with a large (forgive the word) "redneck" population.
I know for a fact after visiting the Tes Bag Protest site that there will be a Tea Bagger Tax protest on April 15 in front of our courthouse. Ironically, it's the same courthouse where John Brown was tried after his abortive attack on Harpers Ferry.
So my question in this diary is this: What, if any, should my reaction be? I wish to live peaceably with my neighbors in this small town. They must know that I don't agree with them after my yard signs.
No poll with this one: I'm looking for ideas and advice to someone who feels at times like he's behind enemy lines (as Batshit Bachmann recently said).
