Check your mailbox - there's a plastic bag in there. I'm not a fan of plastic bags in general - I carry my own re-usable bags everywhere I go.
This one, though, is a little different. If it was paper, it would be more likable. This little plastic bag is going to help feed people.
Stamp Out Hunger is this Saturday! So get your non-perishable food into that bag and set it out by your mailbox Friday night. They start collecting early Saturday morning!

Take some canned protein - tuna, chicken, peanut butter. Some canned beans too. Other non-perishable foods. Put them in the bag. Set them out.
This is probably the largest secular food drive in the United States. Per their web site, it is the largest one-day drive.

That one in eight? That means one of your neighbors. Someone you ran into at the gas station. Your barber, hairdresser, store clerk.
It might be the easiest thing you do all week.
As for me, I am within $200 of my minimum fundraising goal for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Tomorrow I'll write a diary with blue boobies, no bait and switch.
