I mean is this man playing mind/word games?

Mitt Romney
Has it come to this again? The president is meeting with his oil spill experts, he crudely tells us, so that he knows "whose ass to kick." We have become accustomed to his management style — target a scapegoat, assign blame and go on the attack. To win health care legislation, he vilified insurance executives; to escape bankruptcy law for General Motors, he demonized senior lenders; to take the focus from the excesses of government, he castigated business meetings in Las Vegas; and to deflect responsibility for the deepening and lengthening downturn, he blames Wall Street and George W. Bush. But what may make good politics does not make good leadership. And when a crisis is upon us, America wants a leader, not a politician.
The rest of the article gets worse.
I know the title is trouble for me in the comments section but seriously, is it me or Mitt who's stupid? He ran for president. I'm just me. He did however, lose tens of milions of dollars of his own money in the process and got as far as Wednesday of week one in the competition. So maybe just being me is okay.
Let me try to understand what he's saying again. Maybe if I write it out like answers on a test I can see his point of view. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
- Target and scapegoat. Does he mean find out the culprit and place blame?
- Vilify insurance executives. Yeah he did that in a sense, was it wrong? Healthcare costs are out of control and the executives' pay unconscionable.
- Helped GM escape bankruptcy law. Did he not help Wall Street as well? It was a part of his economic plan, not to let the country sink. It worked.
- To deflect responsibility for the deepening and lengthening downturn, he blames Wall Street and George W. Bush. But what may make good politics does not make good leadership.
As big as this one sounds. It's just ridiculous. Find the culprit, assign blame. That's what he did. It's true.
So, Is Mitt Romney stupid or something?
