Hmmm, Rachel will be on Meet The Press tomorrow. Could it be because of this:
"This Week" tops "Meet The Press"
"This Week" averaged 990,000 A25-54 viewers, more than "Meet the Press" (930,000), CBS’ "Face the Nation" (560,000) and Fox’s "Fox News Sunday" (420,000).
If NBC is concerned about ratings, putting Rachel on seems like the logical thing to do, if history is any lesson.
MTP Ratings burst with Maddow appearance
What NBC hasn't stumbled onto yet is, every Sunday morning could "burst" with the right host/hostess.

Then our political roundtable of journalists and strategists weighs in on it all and how it could play out in the 2010 midterms: New York Times columnist David Brooks; Fmr. Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN); Republican Strategist and Fmr. Counselor to President George W. Bush, Ed Gillespie; and msnbc's Rachel Maddow, who just returned from Afghanistan.

Jon Friedman's interview includes discussing her method of interviewing, what she expects of her guests, why she does not attack her guests, her habit of being too critical of herself and more. I'll throw out a few quotes to entice you.
Friedman's Title:
Rachel Maddow is MSNBC's voice of reason
Maddow understands well the pitfalls of believing your hype. "It's easy to turn into a jerk when people tell you that you're awesome," she said.
This is the rare 21st-century TV news star, an un-self-absorbed celebrity.
To a viewer watching at home, it might seem like Maddow -- or any other talk-show host -- breezes through the program. But she is wrung out by the time the closing credits roll. "At 10:01 p.m. I'm in a blur and I can barely put a sentence together."
Maddow was fun to interview because she was as unscripted in person as she is on her show. Plus, unlike many television personalities, she didn't ask in advance for "talking points."
"Hopefully I'll do the show for a while," she said. "I want to get good at this. I'll do this for as long as they'll have me."
A reader's comment about the interview from someone who is not a Rachel fan
"Voice of reason"? LOL at one of the most utterly stupid, wrong, one-headed, biased statements from this liberal kool-aid swilling author. The ONLY reason Maddow has is to propagate progaganda from the king-messiah's warchest of lies, deception, demagoguery and hate speech. I will bet all 2700 of her viewers are getting 'a tingle up their collective legs' about now. What a farce..."
