When you pass an ordinance in your state, don't expect things to be alright even though you aren't doing anything illegal. It is obvious that the people who run the Drug Enforcement Agency can't be bothered with a little thing called justice, but they also don't give a damn if what you are doing is legal by your state:
"I don’t care what the sheriff says."
Was said by the DEA agent in charge after a Mendocino County, California resident obtained legal rights "to grow up to 99 plants provided they comply with certain regulations."
DEA Raids Legal Marijuana Farm, Destroys Crops
Joy Greenfield, is the first patient to pay the $1,050 application fee.
Her property had passed a preliminary inspection by the Mendo sheriff’s deputies shortly before the raid, and she had bought the sheriff’s "zip-ties" intended to designate her cannabis plants as legal.
But none of that matters, because anybody who deals with ANY drug is evil, and they are a stain on our society.
DEA
Marijuana is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Schedule I drugs are classified as having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.
The DEA divulges in backwards thinking, one major being the "Gateway" drug concept. They believe Marijuana to be a highly dangerous drug that is more dangerous than prescription drugs, like Ibuprofen:
Back in 2002, High Court Upholds Marijuana As Dangerous Drug
DEA Administrator Asa Hutchinson stated: "This is an important ruling because it leaves in place a sound decision made by DEA, in consultation with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), that there is no basis to remove marijuana from schedule I. Current medical and scientific evidence continues to demonstrate that marijuana has a high potential for abuse and no safe and effective medical use."
Administrator Hutchinson explained the importance of accurate drug scheduling: "Drugs sold lawfully in the United States are the safest in the world. This is because our nation, through its laws, insists on careful deliberation before allowing drugs to be sold as medicine. To date, marijuana does not meet the scientific requirements."
Wow, either willful ignorance, or this Administrator is bought and paid for by PHARMA. It is not possible to overdose on Marijuana, but because it is illegal it is dangerous.
Around 7,600 people die a year due to legal drug overdoses, to date, Marijuana related deaths remain at a big, fat 0.
The DEA still holds these views:
Marijuana is Dangerous To Users And Others
Legalization of marijuana, no matter how it begins, will come at the expense of our children and public safety. It will create dependency and treatment issues, and open the door to use of other drugs, impaired health, delinquent behavior, and drugged drivers.
Right, because if you legalize Marijuana and sell it right next to Alcohol, then you just know that comes at the expense of our children . . . right?
Wrong! If a child isn't old enough then they can not purchase any amount of Marijuana, just like Alcohol. But what the DEA doesn't understand is, what they are doing is making the problem worse.
It will create dependency and treatment issues, and open the door to use of other drugs, impaired health, delinquent behavior, and drugged drivers.
What, like this shit isn't happening now. It's as if in the DEA's collective mindset, all drugs that are created and processed by some pharmaceutical company is safe, and any drug that grows from the earth must be destroyed for good.
Legalizing Marijuana will not create:
Dependency? Why the hell are you worried about what I am dependent on? Does it anger you that I am choosing what to do with my mind and body? I think so . . . Withdrawal Symptons and Dependency:
Marijuana detox and withdrawal is not dangerous but it can be very uncomfortable, and it can be difficult to overcome the cravings back to use and abuse.
Some additional symptoms of marijuana withdrawal can include headache, nausea, anxiety (common) paranoia and even irritability or aggression. These sensations will endure with some intensity for several days before gradually subsiding, and it is during this period that the cravings to use are strongest, and there is the greatest risk of relapse.
VS.
There is more but a lot on the withdrawal symptoms of Tobacco, but that is ok because it is legal.
Within 20 minutes of quitting, your body begins a series of changes that continue for years. For example, four hours after quitting smoking, the nicotine level in your blood is reduced by half. Within hours carbon monoxide in the blood decreases and the oxygen level in blood increases. Within days the ability to smell and taste has improved and physical activity becomes easier. Within three months, coughing, sinus congestion and shortness of breath decrease.
Treatment Issues? That makes no sense! Because you legalize Marijuana, being treated for addiction will make it harder or something.
Opens the door to other drugs? Bullshit, I'll never smoke crack or meth and I've been smoking for awhile now. If I were to start smoking meth, it ain't because of Mary Jane.
Marijuana is no gateway drug, so says a 12-year University of Pittsburgh study. Moreover, the study’s findings call into question the long-held belief that has shaped prevention efforts and governmental policy for six decades . . .
Impaired Health? You mean like when I purchase a bag of unknown laced Marijuana from some shady unknown dealer? I actually haven't before, but I've had friends go through this, and I've heard ample stories on cocaine or ectasy laced weed. Marijuana does not impair your health, it is actually now known to prevent head and neck cancers by 62%. "The active ingredient in marijuana cuts tumor growth in common lung cancer in half and significantly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread, say researchers at Harvard University who tested the chemical in both lab and mouse studies."
Delinquent Behavior? You mean children could be perfect little saints if they never smoked weed. If anything, give a delinquent a joint and he'll stop causing all that property damage. Give him some alcohol and watch him fight his friends over nonsense while throwing up all over your new carpet.
Drugged Drivers? Who I guess magically appear after, Marijuana is legalized. What about all of those drunk drivers who kill over 13,846 people a year. I lost my cousin because a drunk driver plowed through a red light.
So I question those who do not support legalization, because usually when they do not support it they bring up those same talking points. I understand those who do not fully support Legalization, but Decriminalization just doesn't cut it:
How Legal Pot Could Harm the Cartels
Marijuana carries the least amount of overhead cost for many of the cartels and provides some of their cash flow for buying guns and influence. Estimates vary, but analysts say pot accounts for somewhere in the range of 20 to 50 percent of the cartels’ profits. But that could soon change with competition from El Norte: California has a proposition set for the November ballot—on which voters are roughly split—that would legalize the drug’s domestic production and sale. If the measure passes, says a recent analysis by the RAND Corporation, California could become a major supplier of the drug to the rest of the U.S. That, according to George W. Grayson, a professor of government at William & Mary, "would hurt the cartels badly." RAND estimates that it could reduce the drug’s pretax price by more than 80 percent.
Or you can check out this diary by me, detailing the rise in violence in Mexico and how our banks are laundering drug money.
The gang then exploded a car holding as much as 22 pounds (10 kilograms) of explosives, killing the decoy, a rescue worker and a federal officer. A regional military commander said a cell phone might have been used to detonate the bomb.
The gang promised to strike again, with graffiti painted on the wall of a Ciudad Juarez shopping center. "What happened ... is going to keep happening against all the authorities," the message read. "We have more car bombs."
The car bombs will only continue if the Cartels are still turning a profit, if they can not sell, then there is no territory to fight over. This is right there on our borders, but instead of helping the Mexicans in our Drug War, we fight and destroy our own citizens in America. It's obvious your losing when a drug kingpin makes the Forbes List:
"So is there anywhere one can still make a fortune these days? The 38 newcomers offer a few clues. Among the more notable new billionaires are Mexican Joaquin Guzman Loera, one of the biggest suppliers of cocaine to the U.S."
Legalizing Marijuana will not create a dependent nation, (if anything we already are) or lazy pot heads. Everyone will not suddenly show up to work high and they won't suddenly drive high while taking hits from a bong.
It's all garbage, it is very clear that we already have these problems and keeping the herb illegal is making it worse.
Especially for Joy Greenfield, the DEA raided her place and took all of her legally grown plants like thugs. They even raided her house and left it tarnished, just like thugs would do. She wasn't doing anything illegal at the state level, leaving much to be desired by the DOJ. Majority of the raids have slowed down, but they keep happening, even when citizens are complying with the law. The DEA stole her property and trashed her place.
The agents invaded her property with guns drawn, tore out the collective’s 99 plants and took Greenfield’s computer and cash.
Joy was not at home during the raid, but spoke on the phone to the DEA agent in charge. When she told he she was a legal grower under the sheriff’s program, the agent replied, "I don’t care what the sheriff says."
When she returned to her house she found it in disarray with soda cans strewn on the floor. "It was just a mess," she said. "No one should be able to tear your house apart like that."
