One of the things voters are supposed to look for when electing someone to public office is whether they have good judgment.
If their contributorship to Andrew Breitbart's irresponsible and despicable yellow journalism provides any indication of the type of judgment to expect from "Taliban" Pete Sessions and "Fair Hair" Rick Perry, their judgment is not merely not mainstream.
It's reckless, irresponsible, and, may I add racist.
More below.
Years ago, when I studied journalism, I was taught that the kind of sensationalistic and untrue journalism practiced by Breitbart and Fox was called "yellow journalism." If anyone was ever caught practicing such journalism back when I was studying the subject, they'd be fired in a New York minute.
As the sickening story of Mrs. Sherrod's shoddy treatment by Breitbart and Fox has spread, it has become clearer by the second that Mrs. Sherrod and a host of others have been uncalled for victims of the flagerent false and racist journalism that Breitbart engages in.
Given that, and given their listed association with his web site, questions MUST be raised about this exhibition of poor judgment by Sessions (who I am even more saddened to say represents my congressional district) and Perry (who I pray is pink slipped by Texas voters in November).
Folks in my state and district have every right to wonder what being involved with a racist web site that spreads inflammatory misinformation with regularity says about the judgment of those who are supposed to display far better judgment as elected officials.
It sure doesn't speak well of either Perry or Sessions, and their ousters from public office are long past due. I sure hope even more that Bill White (governor) and Grier Raggio (TX-32) retire Perry and Sessions from their offices in November.
