Well, it's been over two weeks since I last saw a WHEE diary, so I'm throwing one up for people to touch base and show off their progress, or complain about the lack of same.
WHEE (Weight, Health, Eating and Exercise) is a community support diary for Kossacks who are currently or planning to start losing, gaining or maintaining their weight through diet and exercise or fitness. Any supportive comments, suggestions or positive distractions are appreciated. If you are working on your weight or fitness, please -- join us! You can also click the WHEE tag to view all diary posts.
As I posted in my first (ok, my only) WHEE diary, I'm working on a fairly major goal - 125# of weight loss in 8 months, of which 2 months are already gone. That requires some pretty strong discipline, which has never been my strong point, and some pretty steady weight loss with little room for error - or plateaus.
Plateaus, those hideous sticking points in any weight loss regime, that can hit either simply out of the blue, or as a result of a failure to stick to the plan. In my case, it looks like its going to be the 'stick to the plan part' that trips me up.
I'm just now breaking out of my first major plateau, which resulted from several days of overeating thanks to lack of willpower and unexpected company, for whom we made much larger meals than I had been doing, and as a result, I engaged in 'social dining'. Instead of consciously paying attention to what and how much I was eating, I grazed while talking.
Obvious outcome - overeating occurred, I lost focus and control and I lost several weeks screwing around to regain my prior weight after bouncing back up. Even now, I'm only dropping maybe .25 lbs a day as I struggle to regain my focus and strict control.
Nevertheless, as I pull out of my first major plateau, I've also hit my first major milestone.
300.0# Starting weight
175.0# Goal
275.0# Current Weight
25.0# Loss To Date
25 down, 100 to go. Which, BTW drops my BMI from 47 to 43.1. But I am behind schedule. I just hope it gives me the determination to double down and work harder still.
So how are all of you doing? Ahead of schedule, behind, dead on? Losing fat, gaining muscle, maintaining while working away from empty calories and onto healthier diets?
