From TPM:
The "terror babies" plot has previously been discussed on the House floor by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). On Tuesday night, Cooper hosted Texas state Rep. Debbie Riddle, who also pushed the great danger of the terrorist babies -- though she said she would not reveal her sources and did not have the evidence on hand. So on Wednesday night, Cooper hosted Tom Fuentes, who served as the FBI's assistant director in the office of international operations from 2004 to 2008.
"The FBI has 75 offices overseas, including offices in Jordan, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Pakistan," explained Fuentes. "There was never a credible report -- or any report, for that matter -- coming across through all the various mechanisms of communication to indicate that there was such a plan for these terror babies to be born.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). No surprise he's from Texas. A lot of extreme morons are from there.
Anyway, Anderson Cooper, being far more patient than I would be, tolerated this screaming, lying blowhard for a 10 minute interview that was essentially Gohmert filibustering Cooper to make his completely unresearched point about "terror babies" being recruited from the United States.
This guy is a right wing judge. For those who watch this interview, it was absolutely embarrassing. Any wingnut who tells you otherwise is so delusional they don't deserve a voice.
Furthermore, it's hard to characterize this guy as anything but an extremist. But his brand of extremism is common ground for the republican party:
From Ahram.org:
Just last week, Texas Republican Louie Gohmert introduced a resolution explicitly authorising an Israeli attack on Iran. While Gohmert can be dismissed as a loose cannon -- given his penchant for longwinded fundamentalist rants about Israel's claims to the Holy Land -- it is disturbing that his "Israeli attack on Iran" resolution was endorsed by 1/3 of the Republican caucus.
Simply put, this guy is pathetic. P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. Any republican who approves of this psycho's rants has no business in our government. We have enough problems with extremists who try to destroy us from outside of this country. The last thing we need are more from a party that has already made it clear they have every intention of destroying us from within.
Now. Here's the bigger issue.
Louie is just the latest standout; another far right conservative who, without the party's direct acknowledgment, speaks for most of them. In addition, he has common ground with the tea partiers.
Simply put: Screw him. Screw the republicans. They don't care one iota about this country, take every opportunity to try to destroy it, and spew foul-mouthed tirades like Louie's current one.
Quoting "Trading Places": "Nobody wants to buy your drugs here, Louie."
