Cartoons, acid mix #3: Money Talks...
I await with interest to see how well the bank CEOs will handle the questions put forth by Philip Angelides, Chairman of The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission and his committee, which convenes this week on Capitol Hill.
Will the CEOs squirm? Dodge? Play it humble? See forest through trees? Dance on pinheads?
I am hoping there will be some teeth to this commission, not just talk. Call me blindly naïve, but I have faith in the system to do some corrective maneuvers. Perhaps not revolutionary, but certainly more than anything we would have seen under a Republican administration. I certainly would not expect the CEOs themselves to change, as that would involve genuine leadership and vision on their part. So let's see what comes of it.
