We don't need Obama the hero, we need Obama the leader.
We need Obama to be a leader in this crisis before being a hero. We need him to lead because this earthquake scenario is much worse than New Orleans. Anarchy is going to come much faster to Haiti. The people have so much fewer resources. There is no Superdome. There are no cars, no gas and worse, no Texas to send people to. There is no WalMart or unexpected trucks from companies coming aside from planes (which I'm gathering aren't coming until daytime Thursday since the airport has limited power).
And unfortunately, we won't be able to save as many people as we'd like due to time and supply constraints to getting our rescue people there. To me, that's why we need Obama to lead and not be a hero. He can't save everyone but we need him to find the best way as many as we can. And this rescue is going to take much longer than the Katrina recovery process so some of you should bite your tongues before lashing out at Bush when there's such a big challenge ahead for the men and women we do send to assist. We can compare and assess afterwards.
What you can do to make this possible is to donate cash to the redcross. Send links to your friends. Learn to text a $10 donation to the Clinton fund. Get ready to make yourself vocal to bring refugees to America for medical and humanitarian reasons. Fight the good fight and do what you can to help our president and our country do as much as we can for the people of Haiti.
Thank you for your time.
