Sarah Palin was once again very much in the news, due to her debut on Fox News and the release of the book "Game Change". Because of those events few people noticed the interview she recently did with a small local radio station in Anchorage.
Interviewer: So you figure you'll be running for president in 2012, Sarah?
Palin: Well, if God tells me that's my destiny, then who am I to argue? But nothing's sure at this time - we'll take it one day at a time, and see how it works out.
Interviewer: But there must be some kind of ambitiousness in you that drives you in that direction?
Palin: Oh no, I'm not really very ambitious. I just want to serve the people of this great nation, and do what I can so we can all move forward from the mess that we're in now. And then there's that "beauty and the beast" thing.
Interviewer: Uh, "beauty and the beast"? You expect to be running with John McCain again?
Palin: John McCain? What do you mean?
Interviewer: You said, "beauty and the beast".
Palin: No, no, you've got it all wrong! And I don't appreciate you saying dumb things about John McCain.
Interviewer: Well, now I'm puzzled. What do you mean? You and Joe Lieberman, maybe?
Palin: Really, are you trying to be insulting, or what? I'm talking about the car, The Beast, of course. I just can't wait to ride down Pennsylvania Avenue in that snazzy Cadillac. Me and God, we're talking it over, but I really do have a feeling that that's my destiny.
Interviewer: OK, right, now I'm with you. "Beauty and The Beast", ha, ha, that's pretty good. Of course, there may be some people on the left who would start to question who was the beauty and ..., uh, damn, I've really got to learn to put my brain in gear before I put my mouth in motion. Let's see, I think I have some other questions here somewhere...
