Forget about working on your weaknesses.
Focus on supporting your strengths.
I was reading What Matters Now, an ebook by marketing genius Seth Godin. This page stopped me cold.
Like most people, I spend a lot of time trying to fix myself, yet I find I spend a lot of effort trying to fix the same things over and over. What if this was the answer?

I always joke when I am doing performance reviews for my staff that I could just photocopy them from year to year and reuse them. My own performance reviews are the same... every year I know I am still struggling with the things that go against my nature.
Then I read this:
I worked on my weaknesses for 40 years to little avail. Still "needs improvement," as they say. Why? Easy. We hate doing things we’re not good at, so we avoid them. No practice makes perfect hard to attain.
But my strengths – ah, I love my strengths. I’ll work on them till the purple cows come home. When we love what we do, we do more and more, and pretty soon we’re pretty good at it. The beautiful thing about being on a team is that, believe it or not, lots of people love doing the things you hate. And hate doing the things you love. So quit diligently developing your weaknesses. Instead, partner with someone very UNlike you, share the work and share the wealth and everyone’s happy.

That was liberating. I decided right then and there I was going to spend more time doing what I am really good at and try to find ways to offload the stuff I am not as adept at. I have already felt a change in my attitude at work and I think I am being more productive and more creative.
WHEEbles, we spend a lot of time here talking about the things we haven't done well, the missteps we've made, the things we should be doing, or the things we struggle with on our diet and exercise journey. Let's take tonight to tell each other what we are really, really good at and what we are going to do more of this year.
