Have these guys really learned nothing from last year? I can't believe I have to spell this out. We all agree that SCOTUS decision in Citizens v. FEC presents a grave threat to American democracy that demands reversal. It may require a constitutional amendment.
At a minimum it will require a hue and cry from motivated angry populace. It must be bi-partisan, it must be sustained, and it must be boil up from street. We actually need the tea partiers on this one. But one sure way to make sure we don't get them is for Obama to try to take the lead. Hence the double reverse negative jujitsu. It works on my kids all the time -- "Under no circumstances are you to make your bed or do homework today." You get the point. So here's the plan --
Obama needs to issue a statement immediately applauding the SCOTUS decision in Citizens v. FCC so that he can continue the change America needs. This will create massive backlash from tea partiers, and hopefully right wing media will join the fray before they get a memo from Corporate masters telling them to STFU.
At a minimum, the tea partiers will be thrown for a loop if Fox news is saying it is good and so is Obama.
Anyway, once the tea partiers are in full tizzy mode, then Obama can say, "you are tight tea partiers, I should have listened. I see the error in my ways." And then he can join in support of Tea Partiers effort to take on Corporate America.
But no! Dems are falling all over themselves to decry the Scotus decision, which will no doubt lead the tea baggers to think it is great.
P.S. Obama going to Congress to seek bi-partisan action on this is a friggin joke -- these are the guys that see a giant money train heading their way -- makes me wonder if we are being played.
