Once again the king maker of the tea party is showing his true colors, its still about christian fundamentalism, always was always will be. Once again the idiot from South Carolina revisits old ground, back to 2004 all over again. why the local Democrats can't find a sane person to run against him is beyond me.
What this time?
Aprarently Gay men and heterosexual women who cohabit should not be allowed to teach in our schools. Back in 2004 it was gay men and pregnant single women, same song, same verse same talibaptist BS.
Where and when?
According to the Huffington Post
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
It was a "church function" supposedly to bring the Fundies and the corparatist GOPer crowd together. I am strugginling to work out just what is different from his actions in 2004 when he basically had to tap dance with Brian Williams to pretend he did not really mean it:
I have some far more direct questions, forget the BS that this is a local school board issue (equal rights any one?) when will some one in the press ask the basic follow up questions of this idiot:
Does the senateor hold the same opinion of unmarried men who cohabit?
What about an unmarried man who fathers a child? should he be allowed to teach?
What about a celabate person who is hired as a teacher then starts to Cohabit unwed, should they be fired?
note he apears to have no objections to Lesbians, we should check of course.
Would engaging in an extra marital affair preclude one from practicing teaching for either gender? And if so should it not also preclude one from holding public office? Perhaps the senator would care to go on record on that matter rather than hide behind semantics and evasion.
He boasts about how he was vilified for his supidity, but taken to its logical extension the only people who can teach are either celibate (the Catholic church can tell him where that leads) or in monogamous relationships sanctioned by the church. I happen to be of the belief that if teachers are to be held to that standard we should alpply it to the Political profession as well, though the idiot DeMint may be very short of fellow GOP senators in Washington.
How does he get away with this? Even in SC? The fall back to States rights (local School board) excuse is reminicent of something else, if only I could put my finger on what.........
