Hi my peeps !
It appears that I may have begun to turn a corner.
Things could change for the worse, but things look
very promising.
More below the fold :
I am overwhelmed by how well the tutoring has taken off !
I do not even know where to begin. It is humbling to have something
so great happen to me ! I have so many students, most of them consistent
customers. They give me more than I ask and won't accept the change !
They are so happy with my tutoring ! Students - Justin, Ashley, Zach, Ronnie,
Sandra, Alexis, Katie - almost all of them I tutor multiple times every week.
On top of that, Professional Tutors of America saw my Craig's list ad and
contacted me ! They had clients in San Marcos and needed a math tutor. They
are paying me $30 / hr to tutor. I get 8 hours a week from them. Plus, I took
the math tutor exam for the Student Learning Assistance Center at Texas State
go get on their recommended tutor list. It included proofs, linear algebra, and calculus.
I got better than a 90 which is quite unusual. So, now, since I had my professor references
already in and passed their exam, I am on their recommended private tutor list which should
give me additional students. My website is still under construction and has been neglected lately.
I also want to put a classified ad in the student newspaper.
I am still crying and upset about Heather.
It is still possible that things might go wrong. Like, some students might drop their courses or my
business might stop growing or something. But, I am cautiously optimistic.

I wanted to thank so many people here who have been so kind to me !
Both in helping me financially and helping me emotionally.
One of my students that I am about to tutor is taking abstract algebra. I had it both as an undergrad and in grad school (and did well) and did quite well on my abstract algebra comprehensive exam (1 of 3 exams which must be passed to get your master's degree in mathematics). However, I am quite concerned that I will be asked questions that I don't know the answer to (even with my background). It is always a fear for me.
