I know for a fact that more people on fixed incomes
are helping their out of work children.
Many by the hundreds of thousands are raising their
grandchildren. How do I know? I am one of those
people.
We have two wars going on and veterans will be facing another No COLA. This will not play well at the ballot
box and the seniors do vote. They are an entire voting bloc.
As an advocate
for the disabled and the veterans, this is a losing
strategy for the party in power. I cannot even
begin to convince people to vote with this kind of stuff
going on.
As a person who lives with a disabled veteran and the only
monies we depend upon is VA and SS, this is a terrible
situation politically and morally.
We are paying more dollar for dollar helping our kids, trying to stay afloat and contrary to what the index says,
we are sinking. Who do they think is helping the kids, the
(grown kids) not on unemployment? Who is paying for everything? Groceries, utilities, insurance and forget any
retirement benefits......that has been long gone.
This gives the republican party a huge advantage to take that non cola pay and use it against all in power.
With the bailouts, the parachutes made of golden silk for CEO's, you just don't take the money from the seniors and disabled.
Someone in charge had better wake up.
This is a losing strategy. See what Bernie Sanders had to say. We are sinking.....The people on fixed incomes because those incomes were based on one or two people not the 6 or 7 they are sharing with their families. Every fixed income person I know and I know a lot are helping their unemployed kids, helping with groceries, utilities, providing medicines not only for themselves but the grown children. This is a no win and lose lose situation.
Yes Washington, the foreclosure rate is high for the seniors and disabled.
