Claudia Kauffman is one of Washington’s biggest advocates for strengthening local economies.
One of the first bills she passed created the Microenterprise Development Program, helping the smallest of businesses compete both locally and globally.
With local businesses only just now seeing the first signs of a potential recovery, it was shocking to see Claudia’s opponent, Republican Joe Fain, suggest small businesses pay a tax on "net revenue" (a.k.a., their income).

But after looking at Fain’s campaign finance records, it was easy to see how he might have forgotten about small businesses. After receiving maximum contributions from Phillip Morris, Verizon and Tesoro, it’s clear Fain’s forgotten about the real economic drivers – local, small businesses.
