Now, Tom Coburn is not my favorite person. He's the same guy who wants to have abortion doctors charged with murder. He's also made some weird comments on a wide variety of issues, from homosexuality to global warming (on the latter, he falls in the George Will camp). Heck, Barry Switzer wouldn't endorse him. Barry Switzer supported the Democrat, Brad Carson, in 2004. Barry Switzer's a conservative dude, so that's a big surprise. Coburn's also a buddy of Dr. James Dobson.
So, you see that Coburn is probably America's most whack-job senator. But, he does offer us this nugget.
[Coburn] expects six congressmen and a fellow senator will go to jail.
Tommy Boy has decided that 6 Republican US Congressmen and one fellow senator are going to go to the pokey, as he noted today to a group in Oklahoma.
He also notes that "if you've been keeping up with things, you've got a pretty good idea". We do, Tommy. But, I'm a little confused. I've come up with 4 of the 7 (which Olbermann and Shuster came up with as well) in Conrad Burns (the Senator), Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, and John Dolittle. My question is, who else is in the "Not So Magnificent Seven" (to rip off the remake of Kurosawa's epic "The Seven Samurai")?
I may be a little too out of the loop on the Abramoff scandal, but I really cannot think of who else could be on the list. I mean, I saw a few more names on Wikipedia in the "received money" section (such as Tom Feeney, Frank LoBiando, etc), but I don't know much about their involvement. So, who is Tommy referring to? What does Tommy know? And could Switzer kick his ass?
