As teen suicides continue to rise nationwide as a result of bullying, you'd think schools and student bodies would be extra sensitive to intimidation especially of a sexual nature. Well, if you're a student of Ohio's Eastlake High School, you'd be wrong.
Video captured at Friday night's game between Eastlake North and Willoughby South in Lake County (far east Cleveland metro area), shows Eastlake students mocking their rivals' uniforms by chanting "powder blue faggots," with what sounds like band accompaniment. The students (and hopefully no parents or staff) carry on for around thirty seconds, although the videographer (through the description on YouTube) claims this was only one segment of several.

This video comes only months after a series of suicides at neighboring Mentor High School. With so much tragedy, so close to home, it's disappointing to see a student body openly jumping on the hate bandwagon and celebrating their ignorance. High school football chants teasing another team's performance on their field is one thing, using slurs is a whole different matter.
