Rick Sanchez was both, wrong about Jon Stewart and liberal media being bigot, and right about how Jews couldn't feel similar to other minorities
Rick Sanchez is wrong about Jon Stewart and liberal media being bigoted or prejudiced. Everyone is prejudiced in some way or other because we live, think, and remember past learnings and experiences. But bigots see only extreme negatives of a group of people. Jon makes fun of Rick and people of all stripes and colors. When it comes to comedy, he treats everyone equally (badly, if you chose to say.)
Yes, liberal media sees minorities as only disadvantaged people, and ignores their shortcoming. But, that doesn’t make them bigots. On the other hand, Fox wants to make you believe minorities are root causes of all our problems. Now, that is a prime characteristic of bigots.
So, Rick may have thin skin or is just hurt.
Rick is right about Jews not having grown up as oppressed minority. Yes, there is some anti-Semitism in USA. However, Jews are a (white) religious minority with very high education, income, and disproportionately high influence in politics, academics, business (attorneys, doctors, wall street, etc.), and media (Hollywood, television executives, think- tanks, newspapers, lobbyists, etc) So, irrespective of experience of their parents and grandparents, Jews, in present day America, shouldn't feel like other disadvantaged minorities. Rick was answering his radio host why Jews shouldn’t, and can’t, feel like other minorities (e. g. blacks and Hispanics) If they do, it’s wrong. That is where Rick is right.
