Earlier tonight we learned that the 9th Circuit temporarily stayed DADT
So once again we are left in that no man's land area of legal uncertainty.
Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that the President could end this once and for all with an Executive Order. Meantime our LGBT troops and those wanting to reenlist sit in limbo.
This is my first post in a long time. I got a bit burned out after working campaigns earlier in the cycle and was dissatisfied after being collaterally involved in a number of local political issues over the summer. But after learning about this uncertainty, I felt that I need to come poke my head out of my blogging hole.

So the hope is now being put on the Senate in a lame duck session?
Why is the DOJ appealing?
More questions than answers as we prepare to sit in more wrangling than the Terri Schiavo plugging unplugging controversy. Countless amounts of money is being spent on the appeals.
So the question I asked earlier remains: Why won't President Obama just end this?
Political expediency and the upcoming election is the most plausible explanation. I want to give our President the benefit of the doubt, but I'm having a hard time seeing how he ever intended to work to take DADT off the books, much less DOMA.
