The Rand Paul campaign finally had to acknowledge that they knew who the Kentucky Stomper was and admit that he was with their campaign. But, they said, they disapproved of using violence to wage politics and so they had "decisively severed all ties with the supporter in question."
And they told FOX News that included returning any campaign donations.
Greg Sargent's The Plum Line of the Washington Post has video of FOX reporting that.
But now we see that Rand Paul has decided not to sever the ties that involve money for his campaign...
The Louisville Courier-Journal reported yesterday that the Paul campaign has said that it won't return the money from the Kentucky Stomper, after all. (And the Stomper himself is, incredibly, demanding an apology from his victim!)
I guess "decisively severing all ties" wasn't really meant to be understood literally. Hey, the guy may have committed a violent crime against a supporter of our opponent at a campaign event as a county coordinator for our campaign, but we have claimed we "decisively severed all ties" with him, and ... his money's still green, isn't it?
How pathetic is that?
Come on, Rand Paul.
Give back the blood money!
