Just an FYI that I can't flesh out more. Sorry.
Now who might be telling little fibs again? First the Germans say Liar and now the Brits chime in:
British officials said today there was no evidence to support claims by George Bush, the former US president, that information extracted by "waterboarding" saved British lives by foiling attacks on Heathrow airport and Canary Wharf.
But...but...didn't Bush write that Mohammed after being waterboarded just 3 little teeny tiny times got up and drew detailed diagrams on a blackboard about planned attacks on these same British targets.
The Heathrow alert in fact happened a month before his arrest, with army tanks parked around the airport, in what was widely regarded as an overreaction.
There seems to be little chance now that even one page of the new memoir has any truthiness.
And another lie:
Bush also mentioned Abu Zubaydah, waterboarded after his capture in Pakistan in 2002. Zubaydah told his interrogators that al-Qaida had links with Saddam Hussein and that there was a plot to attack Washington with a "dirty bomb". Both claims are now recognised by the CIA to be false.
I honestly cannot comprehend the Republican mind. That one can make up lie after lie, and publish them, and either not care that the world will call out your bs or somehow believe that the world will keep its mouth closed and not call you out. It's scarier yet that most Republicans when presented the evidence of the lies will ignore all the evidence and continue to praise this jerk.
