During the HCR "debate" you railed at Republicans for not being serious partners in the process. You laughed at their "partial solutions" and couldn't believe their "death panel" audacity.
Now that the Presidents panel has leaked some of their proposals, we see that many of you are just as full of bullshit as the Republicans you mocked.
Getting some handle on the deficit and national debt is a very serious issue for this country and all reasonable solutions need to be on the table. I thought we were the adults until I saw a bunch of posts on the "cat food commission". I assumed that we were the sensible and rational bunch until I saw a bunch of threads about killing grandma and hurting the troops.
It all reminds me of the episode on the West Wing where they thought they had a plan to save social security, but the President couldn't lead the charge because the democrats would never accept a cut to social security.
You may not like the cuts, but where are the alternate deep cuts? Its easy to say its unfair, but we will need to do a lot more than just let the tax cuts expire to make real progress. None of you seem to have the balls to say how high you would want to raise taxes in lieu of the cuts?
If this President were somehow able to cut 3 or so trillion from the national debt, while saving the country from and depression, saving the auto industry and insuring 30 million more people, we should be measuring space on Mount Rushmore. Instead we will have a bunch of folks on this board belly aching about how grandma is now eating cat food.
Grow up folks.
