I'm serving as a poll watcher at a precinct that's in a South Florida school. There's no candidates or their supporters with signs outside, which strikes me as weird and somewhat sad, but there's been a steady stream of voters all morning long.
The staff is fantastic, the voters all want I Voted! Stickers when they're done. There are only four privacy stations but since school isn't in session today, they've pulled a bunch of cafeteria tables out and people are sitting there to fill in the ovals on their ballots.
There hasn't been a minute yet this morning that the tables are empty. It might get quieter later but there are a lot of retired people in this precinct so it may be a steady and slow stream all day. I hope some candidates or supporters come by for at least a few minutes. This is my third time poll watching on election day and I've never seen a sign-free polling location. (Yes, I did let the Sink campaign and a few others know.)
We are very close to the early voting location that was the busiest in Miami-Dade County, and I'm not sure what impact that is having on voter turnout today.
I have seen a few people check in on foursquare to get their I Voted! badge, and I did a check-in today too so i could get mine, since they didn't have it for early voting. Maybe next time
