I don't know about you but I am missing BWD. I am missing the mish mash. I am missing seeing the picture of my First Family. I am missing that kick of inspiration when Progressive Americans are excited to see their POTUS in support of his policies leading the way to salvaging a dismal Economy.
If there is one person who has the single most notable voice who I have the at most and highest respect for in this community with her unwavering support and dedication to President Barack Obama and this Administaration, it would be the one and only BlackWaterDog.
For far too long, through thick and thin, BWD has been a fierce advocate of these Administration and I feel I need to convey it in a diary space how much most progressives in this community appreciate her.
One thing I always remember about a conversation on BWD is a comment made by Deoliver47who has said this about the importance of BWD's diaries:
More below the fold, videos and pictures...
Photography, art, visual media tell stories just like words, and words use "emotional reasoning". It's why we teach them as academic disciplines. It's why there is the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words".
Blackwaterdog tells us a story. [She] presents [her] pov, of the President. Others present their perspectives...which range from supportive to critical on some issues, not critcial on others, to "primary him", to unfortunately "hate him". (seen that here too).
A President, and a Presidency is often a symbol, or a set of symbols. You can read those symbols many ways.
...for some, those photos represent far more than simply Barack Hussein Obama. For many people the symbolic, and historic election, and what that means for them far outweighs a need to at that moment shrilly parse his every move. To savor the culmination of what has been a long time coming, on the backs of millions, is a brief respite from the days misery.
One can be critical of Presidential policies and still maintain a sense of quiet pride in seeing the man hold this office with not only dignity, but the respect of people around the world who acknowledge that the United States has finally come of age.
