Shocking news indeed. Apparently Keith Olbermann have been suspended because he contributed to the campaign of 3 democrats.
Mediaite reported that Keith Olbermann has been suspended indefinitely from MSNBC because of a story reported by Politico about some political contributions to 3 dems.
Statement from Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC:
I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.
Early this morning, Politico reported that :
MSNBC host Keith Olbermann made campaign contributions to two Arizona members of Congress and failed Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway ahead of Tuesday’s election — a potential violation of NBC ethics policies.
Olbermann, who acknowledged the contributions in a statement to POLITICO, made the maximum legal donations of $2,400 apiece to Conway and to Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. He donated to the Arizona pair on Oct. 28 — the same day that Grijalva appeared as a guest on Olbermann’s "Countdown" show.
UPDATE:
HuffingtonPost just confirmed the news :
MSNBC has suspended star anchor Keith Olbermann following the news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates this election cycle.
I wonder if Mr Phill Griffin checked if his beloved Joe Scarborough donated money to GOP candidates.

Bill Kristol is defending Keith Olbermann, I'm shocked.
Kristole wrote :
First, he donated money to candidates he liked. He didn’t take money, or favors, in a way that influenced his reporting.
Second, he’s not a reporter. It’s an opinion show. If Olbermann wants to put his money where his mouth is, more power to him.
Third, GE, the corporate parent of MSNBC, gives money to political organizations. GE executives and, I’m sure, NBC executives give money. Why can’t Olbermann?
