Here is a great example of why a strong GOTV ground game is so vital to winning both the National and State level contests.
Ken Buck is the District Attorney of the very Conservative Weld County. Even though this County is very Republican (McCain beat Obama 53.4% to 44.5% in 2008) we have elected a Democrat State Representative named Jim Riesberg the last 3 election cycles (not counting 2010). It's really a testament to Mr. Riesberg's dedication to his Community that has allowed him to win so many times. As it stands now, Jim Riesberg looks to have won his 4th consecutive term, but this time it was really, really close. Currently he's winning by 266 votes and it is assumed he will hold that lead after the last Provisional ballots are counted.
Our Senate race featured Tea Party favorite Ken Buck against Michael Bennet. This race, as most of you know was a nail biter until the very end. The Greeley Tribune, Weld Counties largest Newspaper ran this short article today telling how the GOTV effort was the deciding factor in the Senate race between these two men. It was this GOTV effort that most likely brought just enough Democrats to the polls to help push Jim Riesberg over the top this year as well.

This was a truly bright spot for the folks in Colorado and Weld County during this very tough election across the rest of the Country.
