The reaction to the latest Wikileaks really strike a nerve. Huckabee and other conservatives are calling for execution. Rep. Peter King called Wikileaks a "terrorist organization. Many democrats are considering criminal prosecution. So just to clear things up let me get this straight...
It's okay to wiretap citizens with no warrants and violate the 4th Amendment of the constitution.
It's okay to use torture
It's okay to lie and send us into war
It's okay to conduct undeclared wars in Pakistan and Columbia
It's okay to kill innocent civilians in those wars
It's okay to kick Native Americans off their land and slaughter them
It's okay to steal land from Mexico in a war of aggression
It's okay to train death squads to kill union workers in South America
It's okay to look through citizens library records
It's okay to overthrow governments when they vote for people who we don't like
It's okay to use federal troops to put down striking workers
It's okay to put Japanese Americans in internment camps with no due process
It's okay to spy on Martin Luther King and dig up personalsecrets
The above things are all illegal acts committed by the US government that NO ONE has ever gone to jail for.
But if you try to bring more transparency to an illegal dangerous government, you should be prosecuted for treason.
This is not just about Obama, this is about ongoing secretive and terrible things done by a corrupt American government in the name of a decent American citizenry that have continued in Republican and Democratic administrations for hundreds of years.
I love my country and desperately want it to stand up for human rights and civil liberties instead of violating them. How can we have a government of, for, and by the people if this government keeps secrets from the people and prosecutes those who try to expose the secrets?
