Who said elections don't have consequences?!
In Ohio and Wisconsin, two new Republican governors have put down their foot on using the government's money for high speed rail.

The federal government is offering hundreds of millions of stimulus dollars to develop high-speed rail lines, and the governors-elect of two states are doing something politicians almost never do.
They are refusing the money.
Ohio stands to receive $400 million for the program to connect Ohio’s biggest cities by rail, but Governor-elect John Kasich doesn’t want it. Wisconsin stands to receive $810 million to build a rail line between Madison and Milwaukee, but Governor-elect Scott Walker is refusing it.

"I’m Scott Walker," he says in the advertisement, "and if I’m elected as your next governor, we’ll stop this train."
Good job, guys. Kinda sorta shot yourselves in the foot, dincha? Your states should be so proud of electing you smart fellas.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is taking $1.2 billion in high-speed rail money away from Ohio and Wisconsin and awarding it to other states, congressional sources said Thursday.
We've all been waiting for some hardball politics out of the Dems....could this possibly be it?

People familiar with the grants say the Department of Transportation will announce Thursday that California, Illinois and New York, among other states, will get a share of the funds.
To all my dear friends and bloggers here: Please know that I totally understand that you did not put these jokers in office. Any chagrin is directed at the idiots who did. For all of you, I have pity and will help you to elect dems next time around.
