In the advent of an Emergency Military necessity your job as you well know is to provide trained and untrained personnel to the DOD. What is the the likelihood of an epidemic of acute Onset Homosexuality caused by the Draft being reinstated. Is homosexuality a factor in qualifying one as a potential inductee in case of a National Emergency ? With the current Don't ask Don't tell policy instituted by DOD is there a path to becoming unqualified for service in such a case?
END OF MEMO
This is an absurd Memo designed to bring home a simple point. Don't ask don't tell" could possibly be a two edged sword... We just haven't tested how it cuts when it swings the other way...
Because of the UCMJ Unified Code Of Military Justice specifies how a Military member dresses on duty then the real problem is off duty dress. Also the style of speech which sometimes is considered feminine coming from a man and open display of affection towards a member of the same sex are basically the only detectable signs of male homosexuality and reverse in Women. If a Potential draftee in a future emergency comes to the Draft Board displaying the above characteristics will the be automatically Disqualified for service....
Sometimes we out think ourselves to the point that only popular opinion of the current times are the only things that matter. Sometime you must exercise foresight.
