Like most of us, I imagine, I am fed up with Senators complaining about having to do their job. These whiny nay-saying Senators who have one of the cushiest jobs with some of the best benefits are feeling tired and disrespected. Boo Hoo. I wrote Sen. Kyl recently about his idiotic complaint that Sen. Reid was disrespecting Christians by making Senators stay and vote in the lame duck session. Now it is Sen. Graham who complains that it is wearing on his body to study a treaty that was signed almost 9 months ago.
Below is the letter I just emailed to Sen. Graham's office. I am also going to send it to everyone I know in South Carolina, as well as to newspapers in SC and TN. I don't expect it to be published as a LTE in SC since I live in TN, but I'm going to try.
I hope many of you will follow suit and call and/or email Sen.Graham, contact people you know in SC, write LTE's to your local newspapers, whatever. Let's humiliate these pitiful, whiny, spiteful bastards.
Dear Sen. Graham,
I am so sorry to hear that it is hard on your body to have to occasionally stand in order to complain about having to work during these last 2 weeks. Perhaps if you had not voted "No" quite so often, the Nation's business would be finished by now and you and Sen. Kyl could be enjoying your Christmas break.
In case you aren't aware, the vast majority of people do work up to Christmas Day and then return for the week between Christmas and New Year; some actually work more than one jobs during that time as well as the rest of the year. Many others, like soldiers, policemen, firemen, ENT's, and nurses, actually work ON Christmas Day.
Those 9/11 First Responders, whose health care you are too tired (or too petty) to vote on, often worked on Christmas Day. It is shameful that you would complain about having to do your well-paying job with generous healthcare benefits while delaying a vote for healthcare for these heroes.
As for START, perhaps if you had started studying the treaty in April when it was signed, you would not be having such a difficult time now. So, please, stop complaining, "man up", and do your job. If it is too difficult for a 55 year old man to have such a cushy job, you should consider resigning. But please, stop disrespecting the men and women who are in the military and those who are first responders by complaining about having to do your job.
Sincerely,
